Ons Jabeur has ended her season early due to a shoulder injury as she will return to the tour in time for the Australian Open.
It has been a frustrating season for the three-time Grand Slam finalist who has struggled for form and fitness in 2024.
There have been quarter-final appearances in Abu Dhabi, Madrid and Berlin but ultimately Jabeur has struggled to maintain a consistent amount of playing time and was forced to withdraw from the US Open.
Now Jabeur has announced she has ended her season early due to a shoulder injury and will now dedicate her time to charity work, “This year has been extremely hard for me and as athletes, we know that recovery is part of the journey,” the Tunisian explained.
“Due to my ongoing shoulder injury, my medical team and I’ve made the difficult decision to step off the tennis circuit for the rest of the season. While I’m taking time to heal, I’ll be dedicating myself to my charity work and ensuring that we make a real difference in the world. Thank you for all your support, and I can’t wait to come back stronger!
“I will see you back on the court in Australia 2025.”
Jabeur will hope to return to form in 2025 with the Australian Open taking place on the 12th of January.
