Iga Swiatek dashed Madison Keys’ hopes of causing an upset as the world number one produced a dominant 6-1 6-3 victory.
The Pole reached her second consecutive final in Madrid as she eased past the 18th seed in 70 minutes.
A dominant performance from Swiatek ensured that she has the opportunity to win her third final of the season.
Speaking after the contest Swiatek said it was a clean performance and is happy with where her game is at right now, “It was a pretty clean performance and really solid game from myself,” Swiatek explained to the WTA website.
“I’m happy with everything.”
Swiatek will now bid to win her first Madrid title when she takes on either Aryna Sabalenka or Elena Rybakina in the final.
Should Swiatek play Sabalenka it would be a repeat of last year’s final while facing Rybakina would see a repeat of their match in Stuttgart last week which the Kazakh won.
Speaking ahead of the contest Swiatek is pleased she gets to face one of her rivals in the final, “I’m happy that we can play a final against the top players,” Swiatek stated.
“It shows consistency. For sure it’s going to be a challenge, whoever it’s gonna be, and a tough match. I will be ready. I will focus on myself. Yeah, we’ll see.”
Swiatek has a 6-3 winning head-to-head record while she trails Rybakina 4-2.
