Sofia Kenin and Bethanie Mattek Sands came back from one set down to beat Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini 6-7 (2-7) 6-4 10-1 reaching the final in the doubles tournament of the WTA 1000 at the Miami Open.
Both teams traded breaks twice in the first set to draw level to 4-4. Errani and Paolini saved two break points to hold serve on the deciding point for 5-5. Errani and Paolini broke for the third time in the 11th game to take a 6-5 lead. Kenin and Mattek Sands broke straight back to 6-6. Errani and Paolini earned three mini-breaks to race out to a 6-0 lead. Kenin and Mattek Sands saved two set points, but Errani and Paolini sealed the tie-break with their fourth mini-break after 57 minutes.
Mattek Sands and Kenin earned an early break to take a 2-1 lead. Errani and Paolini pulled back on serve to draw level to 2-2. The Italian team broke again in the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead. Mattek Sands and Kenin won four consecutive games to claim the second set 6-4 forcing the match to the match tie-break.
Mattek Sands won the Match Tie-Break 10-1.
