Jack Draper beat Lorenzo Musetti 7-5 6-2 in 1 hour and 48 minutes to reach his seventh ATP Tour level quarter final of the season at the Sofia Open.
Musetti earned the first break in the first game and saved two break points to hold serve in the second game. Draper broke back in the eighth game with a passing shot. The British player saved a break point in the 11thgame before breaking serve to win the first set 7-5.
Draper saved two break points in the first game before breaking serve in the third game to open up a 3-0 lead. He sealed the win with a double break on his second match point.
Adrian Mannarino beat Adrian Mannarino 6-4 6-4 after 1 hour and 44 minutes to reach the quarter final. Mannarino earned his 200th ATP Tour level match on hard court. He becomes the first player to earn 40 wins or more in a season since Gael Monfils in 2016.
Mannarino set up a match against Sebastian Ofner, who came back from one set down to beat Christopher O’Connell 6-7 (6-8) 6-4 6-2.
Fabian Maroszan edged past Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-4) to advance to his second quarter final of the season.
