Milos Raonic is looking to rediscover his best form ahead of his opening round match at the New York Open this week.
The Canadian made a successful return to the ATP tour in January as he reached the Australian Open quarter-finals only to lose to the eventual champion Novak Djokovic.
There were many good wins for the former world number three in Melbourne, with his victims including former US Open champion Marin Cilic and ATP Finals champion Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Despite many injuries in the last 12-18 months, Raonic now believes his best tennis is around the corner, “I think I can find a level above what I had before,” Raonic told Canadian press.
“I’m rebuilding. Through injuries, the past three years have sort of been squandered. I wish things were different but I have to work my way back up.
“I feel like my tennis is there but I have to stay healthy and give myself a chance to compete week in and week out. I was happy with the way my game has been progressing and got better and better throughout the Open.”
The world number 32 will look to gain even more form and find some positive results as he competes in the 250 event in New York as the second seed.
His campaign will begin against a qualifier or Soonwoo Kwon before potentially meeting eighth seed Kyle Edmund in the last eight.
Next week the former Wimbledon finalist will also look to play the 250 event in Delray beach as he looks to build fitness and form ahead of the sunshine double.
