Two-time Next Gen ATP Finals runner-up Alex De Minaur has signed up to play at the Mexican Open in Acapulco. The Australian rising star will make his second consecutive appearance in Acapulco. In last year’s edition he reached the quarter final before losing to Alexander Zverev.
De Minaur won three titles in Sydney, Atlanta and Zhuhai and lost two finals in Basel to Roger Federer and at the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan to Jannik Sinner.
De Minaur joins a strong field, which features world number 1 Rafael Nadal, who is bidding to win two titles in Acapulco. Nadal won two Grand Slam titles this year at Roland Garros and at the US Open and recently triumphed in the Davis Cup Final against Canada in Madrid.
