The ATP 250 tournament in Shenzhen will be relocated in Zhuhai, the venue which also hosts the WTA Elite Trophy at the end of October. The next edition of this Chinese Tournament will be held from 23rd to 29th September 2019, the same week as Chengdu. Shenzhen will be the new venue of the WTA Finals from 2019. The prize money will be increased by 27 % from $ 734000 to $ 931000.
Andy Murray won the first edition of the Shenzhen Open in 2014 beating Tommy Robredo after a hard-fought three-set match. Another top ten player Tomas Berdych won the next two editions in 2015 and 2016. The next editions were won by David Goffin in 2016 and by Yoshihito Nishioka in 2018.
The Zhuhai Open will be held on Hengqin Island, near the coastal region of Macau. The tennis complex includes a 5000-seat centre court, five match courts and twelve training courts. Zhuhai held an ATP Challenger Tournament. Australia’s Alex Bolt won this year’s edition of the Challenger tournament.
