World No.7 David Goffin took to social media to share an update on his eye injury. The Belgian was forced to pull out of this week’s Open 13 in Marseille.
Goffin seems optimistic about a quick return however, and the Davis Cup and ATP Finals runner-up took to social media to inform fans.
Hi everyone! My eye is recovering well and doctors are really positive for my fast recovery. I am very disappointed not to be able to play at the @Open13 and I hope to be back on court soon! The only good thing about this bad situation is that I have my personal driver 😄😘 pic.twitter.com/96brx3P8wS

In other news, Stan Wawrinka has followed the example set by Goffin at the Montpellier event. The Swiss has negotiated a deal to show all of his matches in Marseille through his Facebook channel exclusively in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Wawrinka is now the highest-ranked man in the Marseille draw after Goffin’s withdrawal. He is joined by Lucas Pouille, Roerto Baustista Agut, Tomas Berdych, Damir Dzumhur, and Filip Krajinovic as seeds. Karen Khachanov was moved up to a seeding as a result of Goffin’s absence. Sergiy Stakhovsky has been moved up to the main draw as a lucky loser.
Early results in Marseille on Tueseday saw wins for Krajinovic and Khachanov. Krajinovic defeated Joao Sousa 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, whilst Khachanov beat Ruben Bemelmans 6-3, 7-6.
The unseeded Gilles Simon gets his campaign underway in the evening session. The popular Frenchman takes on the in-form German Maximilian Marterer.
