Frenchman Maxime Hamou has had his accreditation for the French Open in 2017 revoked after he repeatedly tried to kiss and grab a female reporter.
The interview, which took place on live television, showed the reporter attempt to discuss his performance in the tournament. He tried to kiss the reporter on three separate occasions, and grabbed her around the neck as the studio anchors watched on in shock.
Hamou had lost his first round match as a wildcard to the twenty-second seed Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay in straight sets. The French Tennis Federation called Hamou’s actions “utterly reprehensible”
With Hamou’s credentials to stay at Roland Garros revoked, and his ranking too low to make direct entry into grand slams at present, it is unlikely that he will ever receive another wildcard from the FTF.
