Bacsinszky : “I’ve seen the physios, the doctors as well. Maybe it’s the ligaments. I’ll go to my team because I trust them and I know they’re going to give me all the information I need to know.”
Bacsinszky had enjoyed a career year, winning titles in Acapulco and Monterrey. She also progressed to the semi-finals of the French Open, the first time she has progressed past the third round of a Slam. Notable wins this year include defeating Petra Kvitova, Carla Suarez Navarro, Sara Errani, and Ana Ivanovic. Bacsinszky also reached the final of the China Premier Mandatory, the best result she has achieved at this tier of event. She was beaten in the final by Garbine Muguruza.
Bacsinszky was to be the first alternate at the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore, but will now be unable to attend. The second alternate is Venus Williams.
