Karolina Muchova overcame injury as she defeated Anastasia Potapova 6-3 3-6 6-3 in Linz.
The top seed moved into the semi-finals in Austria with a three set win over the former champion.
The world number 19 didn’t have it all her own way as the Czech Republican was suffering from an upper leg injury and was broken in the sixth game of the second set.
However Muchova’s mixture of craft and power paid off as she broke in the fourth game of the decider to claim victory.
It was an impressive display from Muchova, who hit 29 winners to reach the semi-finals in Austria.
There was also a dominant win from Dayana Yastremska as she crushed former world number three Maria Sakkari 7-5 6-0 to reach the last four.
It’s a result which continues Sakkari’s poor run of form but a much needed win for Yastremska who will now play Auckland champion Clara Tauson in the last four.
Meanwhile in Singapore there were wins for Ann Li, Anna Kalinskaya, Xinyu Wang and Elise Mertens as they all booked their place in the semi-finals.
