Jannik Sinner crushed Casper Ruud 6-1 6-2 in order to reach a second consecutive final at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin.
A world class performance from the world number one saw the Italian reach a second final in Turin as he continued his incredible season.
Ruud showed signs of incredible moments but couldn’t match Sinner’s incredible level consistently.
Now the world number one faces Taylor Fritz in the final in a rematch of their round robin clash which Sinner won 6-4 6-4.
The Italian was on a mission from the first ball as he hit the ball with precision and authority, hammering the forehand.
Ruud couldn’t match the home favourite’s scintillating level with Sinner taking an early 3-0 lead in 10 minutes.
The Norwegian had a good spell after that where he showed the form that took him to the semi-finals by using the forehand to dictate the baseline rallies.
A solitary game was recorded and Ruud created a chance to get this opening set back on serve but Sinner produced some big serves to hold for a 4-1 lead.
The world number six knew he had missed a big opportunity to break and wasn’t given another opportunity to retaliate as he went down a double break.
A professional and clinical opening set was secured from Sinner as he continued to look untouchable.
Sinner had a response for every ball that Ruud was producing but the Norwegian remained resolute holding in his opening two service games in the second set.
However Ruud was only preventing the inevitable from happening as despite Ruud’s best efforts, Sinner broke on his fourth break point of the game to take a 3-2 lead.
There was no stopping the Sinner surge as he stormed to the next three games to reach a second final in Turin.
Next for Sinner on Sunday will be Taylor Fritz in a rematch from their round robin match which the Italian won in a fascinating straight sets match.
