Number 2 seeds Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe beat number 6 seeds Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Ellen Perez 7-6 (9-7) 6-1 in 1 hour and 32 minutes to reach the championships match at the WTA Finals in Ryadh.
The match started with four breaks of serve in the first five games. Perez made three double faults in her opening service game. Melichar-Martinez and Perez took a 5-3 lead in the tie-break after a series of volleys from Dabrowski. Routliffe pulled the mini-break back with a return. Dabrowski and Routliffe saved one set point as Melichar Martinez sent a backhand wide. Routliffe converted her second set point with a forehand winner.

Dabrowski and Routlffe came back from an early start and saved one set point in the first set to reach the first final at the WTA Final.“We have been in the WTA Finals a bunch of times, but the semifinal was my best result with Erin last year in Cancun. So toone round further a super exciting in the later part of my career as well. It’s really special. To do it together, with the vibe we have got, is really amazing”, said Dabrowski.
