Jannik Sinner has become a multiple Grand Slam champion after defeating Taylor Fritz in straight sets to win the US Open.
The world No.1 dominated the majority of proceedings against his American rival on Sunday, who later admitted that he was disappointed with his performance. It is the second time this year that Sinner has won a grand Slam after his triumph at the Australian Open. He is only the fourth and youngest player in ATP history to have won both of those hardcourt events within the same season.
Sinner’s run to his latest title saw him drop only one set in seven matches which was in the quarter-finals against former champion Daniil Medvedev. He also beat seeded players Tommy Paul and Jack Draper.
Ubitennis founder Ubaldo Scanagatta and Tennis Hall of Famer take a closer look at Sinner’s US Open win.
