Jannik Sinner’s quest for a maiden US Open crown is gaining momentum after his latest win.
The world No.1 toppled Daniil Medvedev in four sets during a match which at times lacked quality. It wasn’t until the fourth set that both players started to play well at the same time. Sinner is the only player to progress to the semi-finals that have previously won a Grand Slam. Awaiting him next will be former doubles partner Jack Draper, who is enjoying a breakthrough run in New York and is yet to drop a set. Draper is the first British man to reach a US Open semi-final since Andy Murray in 2012.
Ubitennis founder Ubaldo Scanagatta and tennis Hall of Famer take a closer look at Sinner’s latest performance and his next match. They also look ahead to the all-American showdown between Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz.
