Diego Forlan has swapped the football pitch for the tennis court as he was seen winning a couple matches at an ITF seniors event in Lima.
The Uruguayan was 16 years old when he gave up his dreams of being a tennis player to become a footballer.
It was a move that turned out to be a successful one as he played for the likes of Manchester United and Inter Milan in his career, scoring a total of 222 goals in his club career.
Since retiring as a footballer, Forlan has also been involved in coaching in his home country.
However, now Forlan has returned to the tennis court to compete in the ITF seniors circuit.
Forlan has so far won two matches both in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals as you can see below.
The 45 year-old isn’t the only ex-footballer to compete in tennis as Paolo Maldini also took to the tennis court when he competed at a Challenger in Milan in 2017.
