Stefanos Tsitsipas beats Karen Khachanov to claim the 300th match win of his career

Stefanos Tsitsipas cruised past Karen Khachanov 6-3 6-4 at the Paris Rolex Masters to clinch the 300th match win of his career. 

Tsitsipas converted all three break points he earned to reach his third consecutive ATP Tour semifinal. The 2023 Australian Open finalist has not dropped a set this week. 

Tsitsipas broke serve in the fourth game to take a 3-1 lead and held on his serve to consolidate the break for 4-1. The Greek player sealed the first set with a forehand winner after 40 minutes. 

Tsitsipas broke serve at love with a one-handed backhand down the line in the first game of the second set. He won eight consecutive points to open up a 2-0 lead. Khachanov broke back at love with a series of forehand winners in the sixth game to draw level to 3-3. Tsitsipas earned another break in the ninth game to take a 5-4 lead. The 2019 ATP Finals champion brought up a match point with a drop shot winner at 5-4 30-15 and served out the second set on his first opportunity in 80 minutes to reach his second Masters 1000 semifinal of the season. Tsitsipas won eight of the final ten points of the match. “I am working. I feel like I can mix up play. It feels good to have so much variety and so much diversity in the way you can play. I take it as an opportunity to keep growing my game and keep looking forward at the many more matches to come and appreciate each moment that comes my way”, said Tsitsipas.
