Five-time title winner Adrian Mannarino beat Jack Draper 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 6-2 to claim his third title of the season at the Sofia Open.
A break in the deciding set was enough for Mannarino to clinch the final.
Mannarino earned his first break of the opening set. Draper broke straight back in the second game to draw level to 1-1. Draper held serve to love at 2-1 in the third game. Both players went on serve until 6-6 in the tie-break when Mannarino earned his only mini-break to seal the first set.
Draper broke in the first game of the second set with a forehand return. The 21-year-old British player converted the first of his two break points in the fifth game to open up a 4-1 lead as Mannarino hit a long return. Draper held serve at love in the eighth game to seal the second set 6-3 forcing the match to the decider. Mannarino earned the decisive break in the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead as Mannarino made a double fault.
Draper was unable to convert two break points in the ninth game before Mannarino sealed the win on his first match point.
Draper equalled Andy Murray’s feat of becoming the youngest British player to reach an ATP Tour level final at 21.
