Caroline Wozniacki is into the second week of the US Open after a 4-6 6-3 6-1 win over Jennifer Brady.
The former world number one is into the last 16 despite losing the first set to the former Australian Open finalist.
Brady was proactive and aggressive as the American, who has been making her own comeback to the tour, came from a break down to dictate the tempo of the opening set.
In the opening set both players had their chances after the exchange of breaks but it was Wozniacki who made the more errors allowing the American to dictate play from the baseline.
A break to love in the tenth game saw Brady capture the opening set 6-4 in an impressive set of tennis from the American.
In the early exchanges of the second set, it looked like the match was running away from Wozniacki as Brady secured another break in the second game for a 2-0 lead.
However Wozniacki continued to work the angles and the Dane opened up the space on the court as she exposed Brady at the net.
The former Australian Open champion broke straight back and always looked like the player that was going to win the match from that point onwards.
Wozniacki dug deep to produce two consecutive breaks as she took control of the match, taking the second set 6-3.
Brady was physically struggling and the Dane continued to physically hamper the American as she cruised to the final set 6-1.
An incredible story for Wozniacki after a long time away from the sport as she now prepares for a last 16 clash with Coco Gauff or Elise Mertens on Sunday.
