Roberto Bautista Agut has admitted he is finally enjoying his tennis this season after reaching the last four in Halle.
The Spaniard is a former Wimbledon semi-finalist and clearly loves playing tennis at this time of year.
Bautista Agut caused another upset on grass as he knocked out top seed Daniil Medvedev 7-5 7-6(3) to reach the final four.
Medvedev was a finalist at last year’s edition in Halle so this was a good win for Bautista Agut to pick up ahead of Wimbledon.
After the win the Spaniard admitted he is finally enjoying his tennis after a tough season, “I think to beat Daniil on this court, you have to play really good,” Bautista Agut told the ATP website.
“I did not feel good some months this year, but I kept working hard. I know tennis is sometimes very difficult, but today it showed up that I’ve been working hard. It showed up that a lot of things, I have been working on and I’m very happy because I played very good tennis.
“I think I can move well on grass, I think I’m fast. My shots are flat and the most important thing is that I enjoy playing on this surface.”
Now Bautista Agut looks to reach his second final of the season when he takes on Andrey Rublev in the semi-finals on Saturday.
