Novak Djokovic is projected to meet with Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals of Roland Garros after the draw was announced in Paris.

Djokovic will be bidding for his third Roland Garros title and enters the tournament in Paris as the third seed.

This is after Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev overtook him in the world rankings after winning Madrid and Rome respectively.

The Serb enters Roland Garros with only five wins under his belt and will look to overcome Carlos Alcaraz on his way to the final.

Before Djokovic can think about the latter stages, the Serb will need to get past Aleksandar Kovacevic and Marton Fucsovics in his opening two rounds before potentially facing Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the third round.

Djokovic then could face Hubert Hurkacz in the last 16, who faces David Goffin in his opener, before taking on Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals.

Rublev could face compatriot Karen Khachanov in the last 16 with Stan Wawrinka also appearing in the second quarter.

In the top quarter, world number one Carlos Alcaraz will start against a qualifier or lucky loser in his opening match before facing Christopher O’Connell or Taro Daniel in round two.

Denis Shapovalov could await in the third round although the out-of-sorts Canadian takes on Brandon Nakashima in his opening match.

Then the Spaniard will face Cameron Norrie or Lorenzo Musetti in the last 16 before a quarter-final showdown with Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas has a fairly comfortable draw although the former finalist could meet Felix Auger-Aliassime in the fourth round.

The bottom half of the draw sees Rome champion Daniil Medvedev also facing a qualifier or lucky loser in the opening round before taking on Quentin Halys or Guido Pella.

Yoshihito Nishioka, Alex De Minaur and Borna Coric are all potential obstacles before facing Jannik Sinner in a tasty quarter-final match for Medvedev.

The rising Italian would need to get past Grigor Dimitrov and Frances Tiafoe before that scintillating clash with Medvedev.

Finally in the third quarter, reigning finalist Casper Ruud will take on a qualifier or lucky loser in his opening match.

The likes of Alexander Bublik and Botic Van De Zandschulp could await before a fourth round meeting with either Tommy Paul or Madrid finalist Jan-Lennard Struff.

Ruud’s projected quarter-final is seventh seed Holger Rune with the duo recently meeting in Rome with Rune winning that match.

Rune’s main obstacles are a potential second round match with Gael Monfils before facing in-form American Taylor Fritz in the last 16.

Here is the fall draw with play starting on Sunday:
