Three-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek cruised past Veronika Kudemertova 6-1 6-1 after 1 hour and 19 minutes in a late-night match to reach the final at the Madrid Mutua Open.
Swiatek improved her head-to-head record to 4-0 against Kudemertova. Swiatek has never dropped more than six games in a match against Kudemertova.
The Polish player set up a final against Aryna Sabalenka, who beat Maria Sakkari in the other semifinal.
Swiatek beat Sabalenka in the final of the Porsche Indoor Grand Prix in Stuttgart last month.
Swiatek leads 5-2 in her seven head-to-to-head matches against Sabalenka and won all of her three clay clasehes.
Swiatek has a 27-1 record on clay since the start of last season.
Swiatek won the first seven points of the match to race out to a 5-1 lead with two breaks of serve in the second and sixth games and saved a break point with a backhand winner before closing out the first set. Swiatek went up a 4-1 lead with two breaks in the third and fifth games. She fended off four break points in the sixth game before closing out the match with her third break in the seventh game.
