Novak Djokovic dominated Lorenzo Musetti 6-0 6-3 to reach the Paris Rolex Masters semi-finals.

The former world number one gave the talented Italian a masterclass in how to play tennis as he reached the final four in the Parisian capital.

Despite breaking in the second set, Musetti couldn’t maintain a high enough level to match the superior Serb.

Djokovic will now look to reach another final as he takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas or Tommy Paul in the last four.

The Serb was in the zone from the first ball as he dictated play from the baseline and was aggressive against a passive Musetti.

In response Musetti tried to be aggressive with the forehand but didn’t want to overcommit to his shots as he tried to keep his court positioning tight.

It was a tactic that ultimately failed as Djokovic gradually found confidence as he turned defence into attack with ease and converted his second break point to take a 2-0 lead.

Djokovic went from strength to strength as the Italian had no response to the surge of attack from the six-time champion.

Musetti helplessly looked at his box as Djokovic would break on another two occasions to dish out a first set bagel.

The Djokovic destruction continued in the second set as he held serve in the second set and pushed for another break.

That’s when Musetti started to produce inspiring tennis as he pushed through a service game which received ironic cheers from the French crowd.

However the Italian didn’t join in and instead believed he could turn this match around and with some help from Djokovic, broke the Serb’s serve to lead 2-1.

In the end though Djokovic responded like a champion and a few arguments with his box couldn’t spoil his night.

The Serb reduced the deficit and charged towards his 36th victory of his season as he looks forward to a semi-final with Tommy Paul or Stefanos Tsitsipas.
