Novak Djokovic eased past Pablo Andujar 6-0 6-3 to advance to the quarter final at the Tel Aviv Watergen Open.
Djokovic broke serve four times and did not face a break point to seal the win after 1 hour and 27 minutes.
Djokovic set up a quarter final match against Vasek Pospisil, who knocked out Israeli qualifier Edan Leshem 6-3 6-2 with three breaks of serve.
Djokovic built up a 6-0 1-0 lead before missing out on four break points in the second game of the second set, as Andujar won his first game.
Djokovic broke serve in the eighth game to take a 5-3 lead before serving out for the match in the ninth game.
“The first match started off in a perfect way for me. I won seven games in a row and we were fighting in that eighth game for 20 minutes. It was one of the longest games I have ever played in my life and I have many games in my life. Credit to Pablo for fighting and playing a great match as well”, said Djokovic.
Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech battled past Diego Schwartman 6-3 2-6 7-6 (9-7) after 2 hours and 38 minutes. Rindeknech saved one match point on Schwartzman’s serve at 6-7 before converting his second match point.
Liam Broady overcame Botic Van de Zandschulp 6-4 4-6 6-3 to set up a quarter final match against second seed Marin Cilic. Constant Lestienne beat Emil Ruusuvuori 6-4 6-2 to advance his second consecutive quarter final after reaching the last eight in Metz last week.
