Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz continues to look every bit as good as the tennis world says he is.
The first statistically high-achieving teenage talent since the likes of Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray burst onto the scene.
And yet, even with those legendary names, Alcaraz is knocking down records of his own.
In Miami, he became their youngest ever champion. The third youngest ever Masters 1000 champion and youngest since Djokovic.

Barcelona triumph
If that wasn’t impressive enough, Alcaraz then sweeped to the Barcelona Open title.
What once seen as his idol Nadal’s crown, Alcaraz won his first title on home soil and with some style.

Three sets were needed to overcome spirited South Korean Soon-woo Kwon in the last 32.
This was backed up with a resounding win over Rafa Nadal Academy graduate Jaume Munar.
The 25-year-old, once seen as the successor to Nadal’s throne, has been well and truly dethroned by the name of Alcaraz.

A mouth-watering quarter-final saw Alcaraz again get the better of rival Stefanos Tsitsipas for a 3-0 winning record.
Last year’s five-set third-round US Open victory saw Alcaraz leap onto the scene and reach the quarter-finals in New York.
The Spaniard also beat the Greek in straight sets back in March on his way to the Miami Masters crown.

This three-set win over another player at 23-years-old his elder, was also impressive.
However, the theatrics didn’t stop there as Australian Alex De Minaur put on a show to nearly shock Alcaraz in straight sets.
But clutch tennis from the El Palmar native saw him SAVE TWO match points – which would prove to be a critical moment in the tournament.
Alcaraz came through a mighty tussle 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 to clinch his place in the final.

There he inevitably destroyed 30-year-old fellow Spaniard Pablo Carreño Busta 6-3, 6-2 to again underline his class and potential within the game.
The older players on the tour must be getting sick of the sight of Alcaraz! He’s teaching them how to play! And, Federer is still yet to meet his young adversary.

Enters the top 10
The victory saw Alcaraz become the youngest player since Nadal, both 18-year-old’s, to enter the world’s top ten.
On the same day, same month as well. Spooky eh?

Securing a career high of world number nine.
17 years later, and Alcaraz looks every bit the successor to his 35-year-old compatriot.
