Alexander Zverev secures the decisive win for Germany over Brazil

Germany beats Brazil 3-1 

Brazil and Germany were level 1-1 heading into the second day on the clay court in Rio de Janeiro. Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz came back from one set down to beat Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves and Bruno Soares 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-4. 

World number 3 Alexander Zverev beat Thiago Monteiro 6-1 7-5 to secure the decisive 3-1 point for Germany. 

Australia beats Hungary 3-2 

The tie resumed at 1-1 on Day Two on Ken Rosewall Arena in Sydney. Fabian Maroszan and Mate Valkusz beat John Peers and Luke Saville 6-4 6-4 in the doubles match.

Alex De Minaur beat Marton Fucsovics 7-6 (7-4 6-4 to draw level to 2-2. Thanasi Kokkinakis overcame Zsombor Piros 6-4 6-4 in the decisive singles match of the Qualifiers to complete the comeback securing Australia a spot in the Davis Cup Finals.

Spain beats Romania 3-1 

Spain ended the first day with a 2-0 lead over Romania on clay court in Marbella after wins from 2021 Next Gen ATP Finals champion Carlos Alcaraz and this year’s Doha Qatar Open champion Roberto Bautista Agut. 

Marius Copil and Horia Tecau beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Pedro Martinez 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 in the doubles match to keep Romanian hopes alive. 

Roberto Bautista Agut, who won the Davis Cup title in 2019, sealed the win for the Spanish team with a 6-2 6-3 win over Marius Copil. 

Netherlands beats Canada 4-0 

The Netherlands led 2-0 over Canada at the end of the first day. The Dutch doubles team formed by Wesley Koolhof and Matwe Middelkoop beat Peter Polansky and Brayden Schnur 7-5 6-3 to secure the decisive point. 

France beats Ecuador 4-0

France came into the second day with a 2-0 lead at the Palais des Sport in Pau. French doubles team formed by Pierre Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut overcame Gonzalo Escobar and Diego Hidalgo 6-1 7-6 (7-3) to secure the decisive qualifying point for the Davis Cup Finals. 

Belgium beats Finland 3-2 

Harri Heliovara and Emil Ruusuvuori earned Finland a 2-1 lead over Belgium after beating Sander Gille and David Goffin 6-3 2-6 7-6 (7-5) in the doubles match. 

Goffin eased past Ruusuvuori 6-4 6-2 before Zizou Bergs beat Otto Virtanen 6-4 6-0 to seal the 3-2 win for Belgium. 

 Sweden beats Japan 3-2

Sweden and Japan were 1-1 level heading into the second day in Helsinborg. 

Andre Goransson and Elias Ymer came back from one set down to beat Ben MacLachlan and Yasutaka Uchiyama 2-6 7-6 (9-7) 7-5 in the doubles match. Taro Daniel drew level to 2-2 with a 6-0 7-5 win over Dragos Nicolae Madaras. Ymer sealed the decisive 3-2 point with a 6-3 6-3 win over Yosuke Watanuki. 

Kazakhstan beats Norway 3-1 

Andrey Golubev and Alexandr Nedovyesov edged past Simen Sunde Bratholm and Viktor Durasovic 7-6 (12-10) 6-3 to give Kazakhstan a 2-1 lead. 

This year’s Montpellier champion Alexander Bublik battled past Casper Ruud 6-4 5-7 6-4 to secure Kazakhstan a spot in the Davis Cup Finals. 

Argentina beats Czech Republic 3-0 lead

Sebastian Baez and Diego Schwartzman earned Argentina a 2-0 lead heading into the second day. Maximo Gonzales and Horacio Zeballos cruised past Jiri Lehecka and Tomas Machac 6-4 6-4 after 89 minutes to secure Argentina their spot in the Davis Cup Finals.
