The Canadian is through to the round of 16 after beating his British opponent in straight sets.
Felix Auger Aliassime is through to the fourth round after beating Dan Evans in straight sets 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 in one hour and 53 minutes hitting 40 winners and serving 16 aces.
The first set stayed on serve with both players doing a good job holding their own. Evans had a couple of break points during the set but was unable to convert.
However at 5-4 the Canadian had his first chance at a breakpoint which was a set point and an Evans forehand volley into the net sealed the first set for the world number nine.
Winning that tight set fueled him and after holding serve in the first game of the second set had an early chance to break and again took advantage to take a 2-0 lead and that turned that break into a double break.
He ended up serving out the second set and took it only losing one game in the process.
The third set stayed on serve for the first three games before the Montreal native was able to continue his aggressive game and powerful groundstrokes which led to another early break of serve to take a 3-1 lead.
The number nine seed broke serve one final time to seal the match and the win and will now face either Andrey Rublev or Marin Cilic in his next match in his most comfortable win of the tournament so far.
