Marton Fucsovics won eight consecutive games from 4-4 to cruise past Adrian Mannarino 6-4 6-0 in 72 minutes at the Stockholm Open. The Hungarian player will face either Jordan Thompson or Botic Van de Zandschulp.
In the top half of the draw Tommy Paul edged past Leo Borg 6-4 6-2. Leo Borg, who made his ATP Tour debut, is the son of Bjorn Borg, who won this this tournament in 1980. Paul will face either Taylor Fritz in the second round.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina overcame Mackenzie McDonald 6-2 3-6 7-5 in 2 hours and 25 minutes to set up a second round match againt Daniel Evans.
Viktor Durasovic came through the qualifying round match and will take on two-time Olympic champion Andy Murray.
If Murray gets through the first round match, he could meet Italian Next Gen star Jannik Sinner, who will be the first alternate at the ATP Nitto Finals. Sinner broke into the the top 10 of the ATP Ranking for the first time this week and won seven of his past nine matches. The Italian star won four ATP Tour titles in Melbourne, Washington, Sofia and Antwerp.
Murray showed his fighting spirit when he beat Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells, Frances Tiafoe in Antwerp and Hubert Hurkacz in Vienna.
The winner of the match between Sinner and Murray could face Taylor Fritz in the quarter final. Fritz reached the semifinal at Indian Wells and the final in St. Petersburg.
In the bottom half of the draw Felix Auger Aliassime will face either Roberto Carballes Baena or Filip Krajnovic.
Denis Shapovalov, who will start with a qualifier, could meet Alexander Bublik in the quarter final.
