Christian Garin has announced that he will be trained by Argentine coach Franco Davin. One month ago Garin split up with his former coach Andrés Schneiter, who guided the Chilean tennis player to four ATP titles (Munich and Houston in 2019, Cordoba and Rio de Janeiro in 2020). Under the guidance of Schneiter Garin improved his best ranking to his career-high of 18 last February.
This year Garin advanced to the semifinals in Hamburg before losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets. The South American player reached the Roland Garros third round for the first time in his career at Roland Garros. Garin has started working with Davin in Miami.
Davin guided Gaston Gaudio to the Roland Garros title in 2004. The Argentine coach later worked Juan Martin Del Potro guiding him to the US Open title in 2009. Fabio Fognini worked with Davin in 2019 in the best year of his career, when he triumphed in Monte-Carlo. Physical trainer Ignacio Menchon, who worked with Juan Monaco in the past, will also join Garin’s team.
