Novak Djokovic’s coach and former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic has announced on Instagram page that he has tested positive for Covid-19. Ivanisevic was the tournament director at the Adria Tour in Zadar and also attended the first leg of the exhibition tournament in Belgrade.
“Unfortunately, after two negative tests in the last ten days, I have just found out that I tested positive for Covid-19. I feel good and I don’t have symptoms. I would like to inform everyone who has been in contact with me that I tested positive for Covid-19. I feel good and I don’t have any symptoms. I would like to inform everyone who has been in contact with me that I tested positive and ask them to take extra good care of themselves and their loved ones. I continue to self-isolate as I have been doing already. I wish everyone who got infected a speedy recovery”, said Ivanisevic.
Ivanisevic becomes the fifth big tennis name to be tested positive for covid-19 after Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, Novk Djokovic and Viktor Troicki. Djokovic’s wife was also tested positive.
“Everyone is smart now, and they are attacking Novak. He tried to do a humanitarian thing. We were locked down for three months. He organized this tour. The players came in Belgrade and we had good tennis and a good atmosphere. Everything in Serbia and Croatia was done with the recommendations by the government”,said Ivanisevic.
