Novak Djokovic announced on his 33rd birthday that he will stage an exhibition tournament in the Balkan region. Some of biggest tennis players like world number 3 Dominic Thiem, former ATP Finals champion Grigor Dimitrov, Damir Dzumhur and Viktor Troicki will join Djokovic in the newly launched Adria Tour, which will feature eight players and will be held in Belgrade, Zadar, Montenegro and Banja Luka. It’s going to be an interesting tournament with the prospect to see the return of this year’s Australian Open finalists Djokovic and Thiem.
Money raised by the tournament will be to various regional humanitarian projects. The series will end with an exhibition match between Djokovic and Damir Dzumhur in Sarajevo on 5th July. The goal is to raise awareness for humanitarian projects, including Vovak Djokovic’s Early Childhood Development and Education programs.
Players will be split in two round-robin groups using a Fast 4 Format to determine a final match each weekend.
There are plans to offer two ticket sessions per day, in the case it is deemed safe for fans to attend the matches.
