Rafael Nadal cruised past Grigor Dimitrov 6-3 6-2 to reach the Acapulco Final as he searches for a third title in Mexico.

The Spaniard came back from a break down in both sets as he convincingly cruised past the Bulgarian to remain unbeaten in Acapulco semi-finals at 4-0.

In an impressive display, Nadal is yet to lose a set this week as he continues his march towards reclaiming the world number one spot from Novak Djokovic.

After his 1 hour and 43 minute win, the top seed was pleased with his evenings work, “I’m very happy,” Nadal said to atptour.com after his win.

“A great victory against one of the best players in the world and a good friend. I think I’ve increased my level during the match, so it’s positive for me.”

A big factor in Nadal’s impressive week this week has been his return game having converted 19 of his 28 break points and he’ll look to take the returning form into Indian Wells and Miami.

Next for Nadal in the final is Taylor Fritz after the American edged out compatriot and 5th seed John Isner 2-6 7-5 6-3, hitting 15 aces in the process.

Although the world number two will be favourite to win his 19th match in Acapulco and lift his third title here, he knows the threat that awaits him tomorrow, “He’s playing well. He has a great serve, fantastic shots from the baseline. It’s going to be a tough one,” Nadal admitted.

The contest will be the first match between the two as Fritz will hope to win his second career title while Nadal is looking to win career title number 85.
