Canada won the ATP Cup tie against Germany 2-1 to keep alive their hopes of reaching the quarter final.

Struff broke twice in the fourth and sixth games of the first set and in the third game of the second set.
“Felix is very young and I knew I had to go out and play very good tennis to beat him. I was very happy with the performance and the way I played. It was very important for us to get the first point”,said Struff.
Denis Shapovalov beat Alexander Zverev 6-2 6-2 to force the tie to the deciding doubles match. Shapovalov broke twice in each set and won 91 % of his first serve points.
“I am really happy to get the win and hopefully we can go through. I feel like we are definitely one of the top teams. I feel like we definitely deserve to go to Sydney. Hopefully, if we do not get that chance, we can do some really big damage”,said Shapovalov.
Zverev won only 54 % of his first serve points.
“There is a lot of things I need to improve, but it’s start of the season. I need to find my rhythm”, said Zverev.
