Fabio Fognini and Flavia Pennetta have become parents for the second time. The daughter has been named Farah. The couple got married in 2016 and already have a son named Federico, who was born in 2017. Fabio and Flavia respected the family tradition of choosing names that begin with the letter F.
Fognini announced the birth of Farah via instagram:
“10.11. Farah has arrived on 23rd December. She weighs 3.160 kg. Mamma and Mimmi are super well”, wrote Fabio Fognini.
Fognini won his first Masters 1000 title in Monte-Carlo and is currently ranked world number 12. He is one of the four Italian players in history to reach the top 10 joining an exclusive club formed by Corrado Barazzutti, Adriano Panatta and Matteo Berrettini. Fognini has become the oldest player to break into the top 10 of the ATP Ranking for the first time since 38-year-old Ken Rosewall and 35-year Rod Laver in August 1973, when the ATP Rankings were first compiled. During 2019 Fognini reached two Masters 1000 quarter finals, He lost to eventual champions Rafael Nadal in Montreal and Danil Medvedev in Shanghai.
Fognini has recently hired Barazzutti as his new coach.
