It’s in Paris, where the train of the ATP Masters 1000 tournaments reaches his final destination of the year, that the last two spare spots at the ATP Nitto Finals will be decided.

This week will have an intense competition between the front runners in the race to London as many of them still have major chances to qualify to the ATP Nitto Finals, held in London between 10-18 November, depending on how advance they’ll get this week in Paris Masters.

Alexander Zverev, last year’s ATP Nitto Finals champion, has had a bad season this year, however, he still has a good chance to be able to defend his title in London. Zverev, who played some of his best tennis earlier this month in Shanghai after a long period of questionable performance, will qualify to the ATP Finals if he reaches Paris Masters final. He is now seventh in the race to London with 2,855 points.

US Open semi-finalist Matteo Berrettini,  who reached the last four in three of his last five tour-level events, is eighth in the race with 2,660 points. Berrettini has made his top-10 debut this week after his QF win in Vienna, becoming the sixth player to enter top 10 this year. Should the Italian reach Paris Masters final, he’ll make his debut at the O2 in London.

With a gap of 130 points, Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut is pursuing Berrettini for a chance to debut in the ATP season finale. The Spaniard has reached his highest level of playing this season, seeing his top-10 debut in August after many years of competition on tour. Bautista Agut will qualify to the O2 in London if he wins Paris title.

The same condition applies to Gael Monfils, David Goffin, and Fabio Fognini. All have their participation at the ATP Nitto Finals tied to winning Paris Masters.

Finally, Diego Schwartzman, Stan Wawrinka, Karen Khachanov, John Isner and Alex De Minaur, have very little hope of making it to London. Although they’ll still have a chance by winning the title in Paris and their rivals exiting the tournament early.
