Former US Open champion Marin Cilic has pulled out ftom the Pune International, ain Indian ATP 250 tournament, which will be held in the first week of the 2019 season.
Cilic, who won the Queen’s ATP 500 tournament beating Novak Djokovic and helped Croatia win the Davis Cup, beat Pierre Hugues Herbert en route to reaching the semifinal in last year’s edition of the Pune International. In the semifinal he was beaten by Frenchman Gilles Simon 1-6 6-3 6-2.
World number 104 Pedro Sousa will replace Cilic. The line-up will be led by 2018 Wimbledon finalist Kevin Anderson, who lost the Pune International final against Simon last January. The line-up will also feature 2017 Next Gen ATP Finals champion and 2018 Australian Open semifinalist Hyeon Chung.
