Italian world No.13 Fabio Fognini will front a series of campaigns for fashion brand Armani.
The 31-year-old, who has won eight ATP tournaments so far in his career, has been selected to promote Armani’s EA7 sportswear from January 2019. From the seventh of that month, Fognini will also wear the EA7 Emporio Armani technical garments on court throughout the new year. According to The Fashion Network, his attire includes t-shirts and shorts made in two colour combinations – green and grey, and grey graphic prints. Furthermore, he will also wear blue shorts and a tennis polo shirt.
Fognini’s outfit has been equipped with VENTUS7 technology. An innovative system that is used for body temperature adjustment and anti-abrasion stitching. The clothing has been inspired by the EA7 season collection. The wristbands, headbands, caps, socks and sweaters have been made with French terry cotton.
Apart from EA7, Fognini will also star in a campaign for Armani’s underwear lines. He will star in the advertisements alongside his wife and 2015 US Open champion Flavia Pennetta. The duo got married in June 2016 and had a baby the following year. A boy called Federico.
The announcement follows what has been a stellar season for Fognini. He has won three titles in Sao Paulo, Bastad and Los Cabos. Becoming the first Italian man to claim a trio of trophies on the ATP Tour within the same year since 1977. He ended 2018 with a career-high of 46 wins and is currently at a ranking best of 13th in the world. Fognini also won the St. Petersburg Open doubles title alongside compatriot Matteo Berrettini.
