Former Wimbledon semi-finalist, Jerzy Janowicz has remained optimistic on his Instagram page, despite having yet another knee surgery.
The Pole was due to return in Sopot last month, where he was looking forward to playing in singles and doubles at the first event of the challenger. However he had to announce his withdrawal as his knees were not up to the task of competitive action and was targeting a return to the Szczecin Open in September.
Despite several rumours, the former world number 14 has confirmed that he has had yet another knee surgery in Poznan today. The move is set to be the last resort for Janowicz in a bid to return to competitive action once again as he wants to return to the heights that made him such a threat on the tour. Although he has had another surgery, Janowicz remained optimistic on Instagram as he hoped to return to court very soon.

The Pole’s last tournament was at the Bratislava challenger last November and should the surgery not work out for Janowicz, it may be the last tournament that he ever plays. Since his injury last season, Hubert Hurkacz has now taken his spot as Polish number one and is on the verge of the World’s top 100. The tennis world will hope that Janowicz returns to the sport he loves as he is one of the most entertaining players on the tour and will certainly have a lot of competition when he returns.
