Former grand slam Semi-Finalist, Jerzy Janowicz has had two operations in a bid to be fully fit for the 2018 season.
The current world number 123 has been in Warsaw to have laser eye surgery as well as knee surgery in order to get fit for the upcoming season which starts in January.
Janowicz, who had a decent season in 2017, winning a challenger title, had to get eye surgery as he did not like wearing glasses regularly and hated lenses when playing Tennis. This surgery took place on Friday with doctor Piotr Voigta.
Then three days later on Monday, he underwent a knee surgery, which he has needed since Wimbledon, where he lost in the third round to Benoit Paire. It is understood that the 2013 Wimbledon Semi-Finalist will now need to rest for a couple of weeks before the Pole can start his preparation for the 2018 season. Jerzy Janowicz will hope to start his season in one of Brisbane, Doha or Pune, where he will have to qualify for the main draw. This is all before he starts his Australian Open campaign in qualifying. Janowicz won’t be the only Pole in Melbourne as Kamil Majchrzak and Hubert Hurkacz have also guaranteed spots in Australian Open qualifying.
