The lineup for the Laver Cup has been announced as Marin Cilic will join Team Europe while Sam Querrey becomes the third American to join Team World.
The Laver Cup which will take place in September is supposed to emulate Golf’s Ryder Cup as Team Europe will battle Team World. The event will take place in Prague for its first edition and will happen every non Olympic year. Today the teams for not having sides were near enough confirmed as the top four players from each team get an automatic spot, should they choose to play. Here are the latest teams:

So Sam Querrey and Marin Cilic were confirmed for the Laver Cup as they look to add depth to their already great teams. At the announcement Cilic sounded delighted to be apart of the even, ‘To be part of the Laver Cup is really exciting and something I am looking forward to. To represent Team Europe is a huge honour for me.’
Sam Querrey was also delighted to play in the event, ‘Beating four top 20 players to win Acapulco and making the Wimbledon semifinals have been new highs for me. It has been a fun season so far and now I can’t wait to be part of the Laver Cup too.’
The Captain’s picks will confirm the lineup. The captain’s for the event are Bjorn Borg (Team Europe) and John McEnroe (Team World).
