Laslo Djere is in the form of his life. A week after qualifying and reaching his first ATP semi-final in Budapest, the Serbian is in his second career ATP quarter-final. Djere defeated fourth seed and clay veteran Paolo Lorenzi in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
At the start of April Djere was en route to a Futures title in Croatia that yielded him a winning cheque for $2,160. By reaching the quarter-finals in Istanbul win earn a minimum of 12,720 Euros.
Djere will face Viktor Troicki after Troicki managed to defeat NextGen talent Karen Khachanov in straight sets 6-4, 7-6.

The Istanbul draw also features Canadian Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic, who struggled past Britain’s Aljaz Bedene yesterday. Raonic was playing his first event since being forced to retire at the Masters from a hamstring injury that dates back to his withdrawal from the Delray Beach final against Jack Sock, He faces Bernard Tomic.
Second seed Marin Cilic plays eighth seed Steve Darcis after both eased through their matches yesterday.
