World No.1 Serena Williams was joined by Eugenie Bouchard and Caroline Wozniacki in this year’s edition of Sports Illustrated’s Swimwear edition.
The annual feature has become an iconic part of Sports Illustrated and their business. Launched in 1964, the concept features models and sportswomen wearing swimwear in numerous locations around the world. According to PRNewswire, the issue reaches more than 70 million people in America alone. During their history, the publication has been known for their extravagant creativity. In 2006 model Molly Sims made world headlines after posing in a $30 million bikini made from diamonds.
“The women of SI Swimsuit 2017 are a collection of change agents, pioneers, power brokers and breakout stars-in-waiting who have in their own way redefined the cultural conversation around beauty,” said MJ Day, editor of the Sports Illustrated swimwear issue.
