Garbiñe Muguruza is set to play the American swing in March after results show no major damage to her Achilles’ tendon.
Today, Garbiñe Muguruza received results of her MRI scan that was taken in Barcelona on Thursday. She took these tests after a second round retirement against Kateryna Bondarenko when she was 4-1 down in the first set.
However today’s results have shown that there has been no major damage to the Spaniard’s Achilles’ tendon. The result showed a small inflammation that should be healed within four days of rest and recovery.
This will be good news for the Roland Garros champion and her fans as she has suffered an injury previous to this win in Brisbane. Muguruza’ power game is taking its toll on her body and will look to get the required amount of rest as she looks to get her season back on track.
