Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram qualify for the Semifinals after a 6-3 7-6(8) victory over Feliciano and Marc Lopez.
The South African and American duo broke twice in the first set en route to winning the first set 6-3. However the second set saw the Spaniard’s show more resistance and determination, which saw both teams defend break points and counter each other’s playing styles. As a result the second set went to a tiebreak. A tense tiebreaker saw Klaasen and Ram convert match point after a 5th opportunity, to book their place in the last four.
The duo will now play Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares tomorrow evening in the semifinals. The British-Brazilian pair were confirmed as the year end world number one team today after Pierre-Hughes Herbert and Nicolas Mahut failed to beat Henri Kontinen and John Peers.
The French pair took the first set on a tiebreak 7-5, despite surrendering an early break. The second set saw Kontinen and Peers step up their game and break in the tenth game, to grab the second set 6-4. As a result the contest went to a match tiebreak, which Kontinen and Peers dominated and took the tiebreak 10-4. As a result they remain unbeaten at this year’s World Tour Finals and will play the Bryan Brothers in the semifinals tomorrow. For Herbert and Mahut it has been a sour end to what has been a dominant season.
