The Atp World Tour moves to Asia for three weeks with six tournaments; the Chengdu Open and the Shenzhen Open will be the first events.
These two Atp 250 tournaments will be played in Chengdu (China) and Shenzhen (China) on outdoor-hard courts. Tomas Berdych defends the title in Shenzhen, while Chengdu, at the first edition, takes the place of the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur, won by David Ferrer in 2015.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has been forced to withdraw from Chengdu due to injury and he will miss all the Asian season. Nicolas Almagro, Jeremy Chardy, Borna Coric and Guido Pella have also pulled out. Austria’s Dominic Thiem and Noway’s 17 year-old Casper Ruud have received main draw wild cards.
Furthermore, Alexandr Dolgopolov, Borna Coric, Daniel Evans and Mikhail Youzhny have withdrawn from Shenzhen.
Qualifying draws will be out tomorrow at 9 PM (local time).
