The entry lists for the two Atp 500 tournaments of Basel and Vienna have come out.

The Swiss Indoors tournament, taking place in Basel (Switzerland), and the Erste Bank Open, held in Vienna (Austria), will be played from the 24th to the 30th of October on indoor-hard-courts.

Even if Basel has more top-10 players in the entry list (4, 3 in Vienna), Vienna has the higher main-draw  cut-off, at 34 (50 in Basel). The reason is that four “Commitment players” got into the main draw of Vienna without being ranked inside the top 34. “2016 Commitment players” are those players positioned in the Top 30 of the Atp Ranking at the end of 2015 season, and they are accepted in any Atp 500 main draw (from Atp 2016 rulebook).

With defending champion Roger Federer not playing, highest ranked players in Swiss Indoors entry list are Stan Wawrinka, Rafael Nadal, Kei Nishikori and Milos Raonic.

Instead, Wimbledon winner Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych and Dominic Thiem lead the Erste Bank Open field.
