Julia Goerges fought back from a set down to beat Karin Knapp 4-6 6-2 6-3 to reach the semifinals at Bastad. Goerges broke serve in the first game of the opening set. Knapp broke back in the fourth game to draw level to 2-2. Goerges broke again to take a 3-2 lead but Knapp broke straight back and held her service game to take a 4-3 lead. The Italian got her second consecutive break to win her third consecutive game for 5-3. Goerges broke in the ninth game to claw her way back to 4-5 but Knapp broke again in the final game to win the first set 6-4.
The second set went on serve until the fifth game when Goerges got a break as Knapp made a double fault. Goerges broke again in the seventh game to pull away to 5-2 and held her service game to 15 to force the match to the third set.
Goerges broke serve to love in the fifth game to take a 3-2 lead and got a second consecutive break for 5-2. Knapp got one of the two breaks back in the eight game for 3-5 but made another double fault to drop her serve again in the final game. Goerges sealed the win after 1 hour and 57 minutes.
Goerges will take on Laura Siegemund, who beat Lara Arrabuarrena 7-5 6-3. Siegemund took a 2-1 lead after three consecutive breaks in the first three games. Arruabarrena broke back to love to draw level to 3-3. After two consecutive service games both players traded breaks for three games in a row. Siegemund broke in the ninth game but Arrabuarrena broke straight back. Siegemund broke again in the 11th game to 30 to take the 6-5 lead and held her service game to 30 to clinch the first set. Siegemund broke twice in the fifth and ninth games to win the second set 6-3.
Defending champion Johanna Larsson beat Annika Beck 7-5 6-1. Beck broke serve in the second game to take a 2-0 lead. Larsson broke back for 1-2 but drop her serve in the next game to love to trail 1-3. Larsson got two consecutive breaks to win four consecutive games to turn around the match. The Swede was unable to serve out for the set at 5-4 as Beck broke serve to draw level to 5-5. Larsson hit a forehand winner down the line to earn three break points. Larsson broke serve to love to take a 6-5 lead as Beck hit her backhand into the net and held her service game to 30 to clinch the first set 7-5. Larsson took a break lead at the start of the second set. She broke serve twice more in the fifth and seventh game to cruise to a 7-5 6-1 win.
Katarina Siniakova beat Sara Errani 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 in one hour and 36 minutes. The first set went on serve in the first seven games with very few break points. Siniakova got the first break of the match in the eighth game to take a 5.3 lead. Errani broke straight back to 30 as Siniakova made three consecutive backhad errors. Errani broke serve to love in the 11th game to take a 6-5 lead. Siniakova broke straight back to force the set to the tie-break Siniakova cruised to a 7-2 lead to clinch the breaker. Siniakova got a double break to race out to a 3-0 lead. Errani got one of the two breaks back in the fourth game for 1-3. In the fifth game Errani rallied from 0-40 down and got three game points but she dropped her serve. Errani broke to love to claw her way back to 3-5 but Siniakova got another break to close out the 38-minute second set 6-3 in the ninth game.
