A cobra snake interrupted the ATP Furth Challenger in Germany after it intruded on to the court during the first round match between Julian Reister and Caio Zampieri on Tuesday.
According to TenisNews, the match was barged in by screams that alerted the duo, who then spotted the locomotion of a cobra snake on the clay courts of the €42,000 event here.
Narrating the incident, the 294th-ranked Zampieri was quoted as saying: “I heard cries of ‘Stop! Stop!’ Did not understand anything, when I looked back I saw this snake.”
Zampieri, however, went on to concede the match, 7-6 6-4 to Reister.
