A great performance for Naomi Broady, who’ll play tomorrow the semi-finals.
In the first set the match was very tight, with a succession of break.
Lisicki was the first to break, at 1/1 with a good game return. But it was a quick lead because her opponent broke back to equalize to 2/2.
An interesting match, Lisicki made her effort at the end of the set and she broke at 4/4. She had to serve for the win of the first set. But Broady came back at this moment to push the German into a tie-break. With the mental advantage of the come back, the Britain played a better tie-break and won the set 7/6(4).
The second set was a bit one sided. Sabine Lisicki wake up after le loss of the first set and began to play much better. She took Naomi’s serve twice and won the set 6/1.
In the third, Broady showed her great mental after the scenario of the second set. Both player won their serves until 4/4. Sabine Lisicki with her experience broke at this moment to serve for the match after.
But as in the first set, Naomi Broady didn’t give up and broke back again. The Britain won her serve to lead 6/5 and to put pressure on Lisicki. That tactics worked, Naomi broke the German and won the match. She’ll play the semi-final tomorrow against Eugenie Bouchard.
