What an epic battle today in Indian Wells ! Grigor Dimitrov had a break in the third set, but the Bulgarian finally lost in the second round of Indian Wells against the German Alexander Zverev (6/4, 3/6, 7/5) in 2h20 minutes on the court.
A week after a great match against Tomas Berdych in Davis Cup (losing in five sets), Alexander Zverev showed again his rapid progress today. Not in danger on his serve during the first set, the German broke in the fifth game (3/2) then concluded the set on his sixth ace (13 in total).

At the beginning of the second set, the young Zverev (18 years old) missed five break opportunities to take the lead. After that Grigor Dimitrov, started to play a better tennis.
The Bulgarian broke his opponent, insisting on the Zverev forehand to lead (4/1), He equalized to one set all with determination.
In the deciding set Dimitrov was physically better and quicly lead 2/0, 0-40. But Zverev didn’t give up and equalize to 3/3, and showed great mentality.
At 6-5, 15-30 for him, Alexander Zverev put the pressure on Grigor Dimitrov. A good strategy. The German won the match before the tie-break (7/5). A very good performance for the rising star.
